Brian Dozier

Brian Dozier is a former second baseman who spent nine major league seasons playing for four different franchises. After leading the University of Southern Mississippi to the College World Series, he was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the eighth round of the 2009 MLB Draft. Dozier was named the Twins Minor League Player of the Year in 2011 and made his debut with the big league team the following season. In 2014, he hit over 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases. Dozieralso participated in the Home Run Derby. He made his first All-Star team in 2015 and went on to hit 28 home runs that season. He took his game to a new level in 2016, becoming the first American League second baseman to ever hit over 40 home runs in a season. The following year, Dozier remained consistent hitting over 30 home runs, winning his first Gold Glove and helping Minnesota get back to the playoffs for the first time since 2010.The Twins traded him to the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2018 before he signed with the Washington Nationals in 2019. Dozier made it to the World Series in back-to-back seasons with the Dodgers and the Nationals. He retired after one final season with the New York Mets in 2020.
