About Brian Boitano
Brian Boitano is a former professional figure skater who represented the United States in various international competitions. Early in his amateur career Boitano won many competitions, including a bronze medal at the 1978 World Junior Figure Skating Championships. In 1984, Boitano finished second at the United States Figure Skating Championships, earning a spot on the 1984 United States Olympic Team. At the Olympics, Boitano finished 5th, and would play off his success at these Olympics for the next few years. In 1985, Boitano would win the first of four United States Figure Skating Championship titles, finishing third in the World Championships. Boitano would go on to win his first gold medal at the World Championships, following that up with a gold medal at the 1988 Olympics and World Championships. Truly a U.S. Olympic legend, Boitano was one of the most successful figure skaters of all time, and is now a Hall of Fame speaker.
