Brad Hand Biography

Brad Hand is a pitcher for the San Diego Padres who has been a top reliever in baseball since joining the franchise in 2016. The Florida Marlins originally selected him in the second round of the 2008 MLB Draft. He debuted in the big leagues with the Marlins in 2011. While Hand pitched sparingly in five seasons with the Marlins, he found his home in San Diego in 2016. That season, Hand led baseball with 82 appearances and recorded a 2.92 ERA with 111 strikeouts in 89.1 innings pitched. In 2017, Hand was named to his first All-Star team.
