Bob Cousy

Bob Cousy is a retired NBA point guard. His career began in high school where he took up basketball at the age of 13. While his success was not immediate, he began to develop his skills and gained experience. Once he moved to the next level, he became an NCAA Champion in 1947 and was a first team All-American in 1950. His play on the court led to his jersey number of 17 being retired. Cousy then became the number 3 overall pick in the 1950 NBA Draft. He spent the majority of his playing career with the Boston Celtics where he became a 6 time NBA Champion, and a 13 time All-Star, all consecutively from 1951-1963. He was voted All-Star Game MVP twice and is part of the NBA’s 25th, 35th, and 50th Anniversary All-Time Team. His 16,960 career points, 6,955 assists, and 4,785 rebounds also earned him a spot in the Basketball Hall of Fame.
