Bismack Biyombo

A native of Congo, the 7th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, Bismack Biyombo is now the center for the Charlotte Hornets. Biyombo got his break when he was just 16 years old while playing at a youth tournament in Yemen. Coach Mario Palma was impressed with his style of play and that recognition earned Biyombo an opportunity to continue to get better by training in Spain. Just a short time later Biyombo made his professional basketball debut in Spain in January of 2011, before participating in the 2011 Nike Hoops Summit where he played for the World Select Team and had instant success by recording a triple double with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 blocks which was the first recorded triple double in the Summit’s history. That gained him exposure which led to him being selected in the 2011 NBA Draft and making a name for himself as a player in the United States.
