About Billy Knight
Standing at 66, Billy Knight is a former NBA player and front office executive. Before his time in the NBA, Knight was a part of the University of Pittsburgh basketball team where he led the squad to the East Regional Finals in the 1974 NCAA Mens Division I Basketball Tournament, and is considered one of Pitts best players ever and has been voted to Pitts all-time starting five. Knight began playing professionally in 1974, and during his time playing for five different teams during his 12 year NBA career Billy scored 13,901 points, 4,377 rebounds, and 1,862 assists. Those numbers contributed to Billy becoming a two time All-Star. Following his playing career Knight began working as a team executive first for the Pacers and Grizzlies. In 2002 Knight joined the Atlanta Hawks front office as the General Manager where he was an integral part of improving the team over time.
