About Billy Blanks

He proved the non-believers wrong early on when they though that because of his hip joint impairment that he wouldnt accomplish much in life. Blanks took up karate at age 11 and over time it began to transform him into the person he is today. In the 1980s Billy invented the Tae Bo workout. The workout combined elements of martial arts and boxing training, and Billy opened a fitness center in Los Angeles to teach his revolutionary workout. The popularity of the program got so large that Blanks and the workout became a pop culture phenomenon and led to the release of workout videos which still continue to sell. Billy has also been a part of 22 different movies including Kiss the Girls, Dance Club: The Movie, and Jack & Jill.
