Anthony Rendon

Anthony Rendon is one of the most productive players in baseball. Rendon joined the Los Angeles Angels in 2020 after establishing himself as a top third baseman in the game during seven seasons with the Washington Nationals.  Rendon had his first breakout year in 2014, hitting .287 with 21 homers, 83 RBI, and a National League best 111 runs scored.  For his efforts, he was awarded the NL Silver Slugger at third base. Rendon won his second Silver Slugger Award and was named to his first All-Star team in 2019. He went on to lead baseball in RBI and help the Nationals win their first World Series. Rendon made his big league debut in 2013.  The Nationals originally selected him out of Rice University with the sixth overall pick in the 2011 MLB Draft.  Rendon is considered one of the greatest players in Rice history.  He won the Dick Howser Trophy and was Baseball America’s Player of the Year as a sophomore.  Rendon hit .394 with 26 homers and 85 RBI.  He was nearly as dominant as a freshman, batting .388 with 20 home runs and 72 RBI on the way to Baseball America’s Freshman of the Year Award and All-American honors.
