About Anna Leigh Waters
Anna Leigh Waters is an American professional pickleball player widely regarded as the sport's greatest female athlete and overall phenom. She currently holds the world No. 1 ranking in women's singles, doubles, and mixed doubles on the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Tour. Waters turned pro in 2019 at just 12 years old, becoming the youngest professional and champion in pickleball history after discovering the game in 2017 during a family evacuation from Hurricane Irma. She pioneered an aggressive, fast-paced style, often partnering with her mother, Leigh Waters (her coach and manager), and has dominated the PPA Tour and Major League Pickleball (MLP). Her record includes over 181 gold medals, 39 triple crowns (sweeping singles, doubles, and mixed at a single event), and historic win streaks. In early 2026, she signed landmark deals with Nike, becoming their first pickleball athlete, and Franklin Sports, plus she's a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree.
