Anibal Sanchez Biography

Anibal Sanchez is part of a talented Washington Nationals rotation. Sanchez originally joined the Nationals as a free agent in 2018 and helped them reach the World Series in 2019. That season, he made 30 starts and went 11-8 with a 3.85 ERA. Sanchez also started off Game 1 of the NLCS the right way, taking a no-hitter into the eighth inning against the St. Louis Cardinals and coming out with the victory. Prior to coming to Washington, he spent 2018 with the Atlanta Braves. Sanchez is better known for a six-year run with the Detroit Tigers. He had some career highlights with the Tigers, including helping them reach the 2012 World Series and leading the American League with a 2.57 ERA in 2013. Sanchez began his career with the Florida Marlins, throwing a no-hitter in 2006 in just his 13th big league start. That rookie season was arguably his best as a Marlin and he went 10-3 with a 2.83 ERA.
