Amir Khan

Amir Khan is a 2 X world champion boxer, award-winning olympian, and philanthropist. Born in England, Khan won a silver medal in the lightweight division at the 2004 Summer Olympics, becoming his country's youngest boxing Olympic medallist at the age of 17. In 2007, ESPN named the boxing wunderkind "prospect of the year." After defeating Andreas Kotelnik for the WBA title at 22, he also became one of the youngest British professional world champions. Khan held the WBA (later Super) title from 2009 to 2012, and the IBF title in 2011. That same year, The International Business Times ranked him the world's 8th best active boxer. At a regional level, he held the Commonwealth lightweight title from 2007 to 2008, as well as the WBC Silver welterweight title from 2014 to 2016. In 2016, he challenged for a middleweight world title.

In addition to his professional accolades, Khan is also a well-known philanthropist. Through the Amir Khan Foundation, he is involved in a number of charitable initiatives including the Barnardo's children's charity in Britain; The Water Wells project, which provides water wells in drought-stricken regions across Asia and Africa and the #OrphanAID project (in partnership with the Shilpa Shetty Foundation), which provides aid for Syrian refugees in Greece.
