About Evander Holyfield
Evander “The Real Deal” Holyfield is a retired 4-time World Heavyweight Champion. Holyfield got his start in boxing at age 12, and he won the Boys Club boxing tournament. The following year, Holyfield qualified to compete in his first Junior Olympics. At 15, he became the Southeastern Regional Champion. Holyfield started out his professional career as a light heavyweight where he has a televised win in six rounds on November 15, 1984. On July 20, 1985, Holyfield moved up to cruiserweight for his fight in Norfolk, Virginia. Here he won an eight-round decision over Booze. Holyfield’s 1986 season began with a knockout over Chisanda Mutti. In 1988, Holyfield moved up to the heavyweight division. His first fight in this division ended with a win against James Tillis. Holyfield won the WBA, WBC, and IBF titles in 1990. In 1993, he won the WBA and IBF titles. He won the WBA title in 1996 and 2000. He has competed in 57 fights total, winning 44 of those fights and 29 were due to KOs. Holyfield has only lost 10 of his fights, 2 ended in draws and one was a no contest.
