About Alex and Maia Shibutani
Alex and Maia Shibutani are ice dancers who represent the United States in international competition. The brother-sister duo won a bronze medal at the 2018 Olympics. As a pair, they won a World Championship silver medal in 2016 and bronze medals in 2011 and 2017. They also won the 2016 Four Continents championship and are six-time Grand Prix of Figure Skating winners. Some of their other impressive titles include the 2016 and 2017 Skate America champions, the 2011 and 2015 NHK Trophy winners, the 2016 Cup of China champions and the 2017Rotelecom Cup champions. Theycompeted at the 2014 Olympics, but did not medal. As an individual, The Shibutaniswon back-to-back U.S. National Championships in 2016 and 2017. They have a popular YouTube channel titled "ShipSibs." They were named Sports Envoys by the U.S. State Department in 2017 and have been Right to Play athlete ambassadors since 2013. Alex and Maia are members of the LA2028 Athlete Advisory Commission as well.
