About A.J. Foyt
AJ Foyt is a retired automobile racecar driver whose career has made a lasting impression on the racing world. While he raced in many different genres from NASCAR to stock cars, AJ found his niche in the US Automobile Club Champ cars (USAC) and never looked back…literally. He got his first taste of victory winning the USAC Sprint Car Series in 1960 and following it up with a USAC National Championship that same year. AJ holds the all-time records with USAC and American Championship racing with 159 wins and 67 wins, respectively. While this is already worthy of a hall-of-fame career, his resume is further highlighted with four wins at the prestigious Indianapolis 500, a victory at the Daytona 500 as well as wins at the 24 hours of Daytona and LeMans races. There is no denying that AJ Foyt set the standard for today’s young drivers, and that standard has yet to be met.
