Louisville Basketball Coach Rick Pitino Keynotes Men’s Masters National Basketball Tournament Banquet

The Men's Masters National Basketball Tournament allows competitors to keep in touch with the sport they love. The weeklong tournament took place at the Coral Springs Gymnasium in Florida. 

Headlining the festivities was one of the most respected names in the sport. Louisville coach Rick Pitino. He served as the keynote speaker for the Masters banquet and also played in the tournament. 

There were several championships in various age brackets up for grabs. Competitors came from 12 different states, Canada and Puerto Rico. 

Pitino has led Kentucky and Louisville to the NCAA Championship and been to seven Final Fours as a head coach. He has been the coach of the Cardinals since 2001 and the program has won four regular season championships in three different conferences. 

While Pitino was the coach of the Wildcats, he was named Southeastern Conference Coach of the Year three times. He got his first head coaching opportunity at Boston University in 1978 and also led the program at Providence for two seasons. 

Pitino ranks 12th in Division 1 men's basketball history with 770 victories. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2013.
