Area Sports Stars Help Re-Open Several Central Florida Sports Authority Stores

Six Orlando-area Sports Authority stores have gotten a makeover and local sports stars will visit several locations Saturday to aid in the celebration.  Orlando Magic players Elfrid Payton and Evan Fournier, former MLB All-Star Johnny Damon, ex-Jaguars running back Fred Taylor, and Orlando City Soccer’s Eric Avila will each be present at different sites.

A limited number of wristbands at each event can be redeemed for an autograph.

Payton will be at the Colonial location from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and in Sanford from 2-3:30 p.m.  After a banner rookie campaign for the Magic, he has become a fan favorite.

Fournier heads to Winter Garden from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.  The shooting guard got off to a hot start in his first Orlando season and finished with a career-high 12 points per game and started 32 games.

Damon is a long-time Orlando resident and went to Dr. Phillips High School. The two-time World Series champion will appear at the Sports Authority in South Orlando from 1-2:30 p.m.

Central Floridians are well acquainted with Taylor from his time with the Florida Gators and a standout career with the Jacksonville Jaguars.  He will entertain the Waterford Lakes store crowd from 1-2:30 p.m.

With Orlando City Soccer the buzz of the town, Avila is sure to be a hit when he visits the Kissimmee location from 2-3:30 p.m.  He is a top midfielder for the Lions with eight years MLS experience.
