About Greg Sankey

Greg Sankey is the eighth commissioner of the Southeastern Conference. Sankey spent 13 years with the SEC and was the Executive Associate Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer before accepting his current role. He has worked hand in hand with Mike Slive to build the college sports giant that exists today. Before coming to the SEC, Sankey worked for the Southland Conference and was commissioner of that league for seven years. He also had roles in the athletic departments at Northwestern State and Utica College. The Auburn, New York native has a master’s degree from Syracuse and did his undergraduate work at the State University of New York College.
