About Wade Phillips
Wade Phillips is a longtime NFL head coach and currently the head coach of the XFL's Houston Roughnecks. Phillipscompiled an 83-61 head coachingrecord while piloting six different teams. Hisfirst head coaching stint was a two year run with the Denver Broncos. He experienced his best success with the Buffalo Bills from 1998-2000. The Dallas Cowboys also went to the playoffs twice in their four seasons under Phillips. While he also was an interim head coach at different times for the New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons, and Houston Texans, Phillips was known as a great defensive coordinator. He got his NFL coaching start working for his legendary father Bum. Phillips was a three-year starter at linebacker in college and started his coaching career at his alma mater, the University of Houston. The Phillips’ family coaching legacy has continued with his son Wes currently coaching tight ends alongside his dad with the Rams.
