About Gary Kubiak
Gary Kubiak is the assistant head coach and offensive coordinator of the Minnesota Vikings and the former head coach of the Denver Broncos. Kubiak attended Texas A&M where he played quarterback for the Aggies’ Football Team. In 1982, Kubiak was selected to the All-Southwest Conference team and as a junior he set a conference record by throwing 6 touchdown passes against Rice. The Denver Broncos selected Kubiak in the 8th round as the 197th overall pick in the 1983 NFL Draft. Kubiak spent his entire career as John Elway’s backup. After his playing career ended, Kubiak turned to coaching. Kubiak’s first coaching job was at Texas A&M where he served as the running backs coach for two seasons. He then spent one season as the quarterbacks’ coach for the San Francisco 49ers. Kubiak became the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Denver Broncos in 1995 and in 2003; he was only the offensive coordinator. Kubiak spent 2006-13 with the Houston Texans as their head coach. On January 27, 2014 Kubiak signed with the Baltimore Ravens as their new offensive coordinator.
