About Virginia Thrasher
Virginia Thrasher is a sports shooter who made headlines by being the first Olympian to win a gold medal at the 2016 Games. Thrasher won her gold in women's 10 meter air rifle. The Rio Games was her first appearance in an Olympics. Thrasher started pursuing shooting after going hunting with her grandfather when she was 11. Thrasher attends West Virginia University and is a engineering major. With the Mountaineers, she became the first freshman shooter to ever win individual air and smallborne titles at theNCAA Rifle Championships. Thrasher led WVU to their fourth straight NCAA title.
