About Troy Merritt
Troy Merritt is a professional golfer that has played on the Web.com Tour and currently plays on the PGA Tour. Troy began his career in golf while he attended Winona State University as well as Boise State University. He quickly exhibited his skill on the course and became a first-team All-WAS for Boise State and was able to tie the school record for a low round score when he scored a 62 in the second round of the District VII Shootout. Troy turned professional in 2008 and joined the Nationwide Tour. After some early success, including a victory in the Mexican Open where he took home a 117,000 dollar purse after winning in a playoff, he became only the third golfer to medal at the PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament by leading after every round. Merritt officially qualified for the PGA Tour after that and retained his tour card when he finished 125th on the money list in 2010.
