About Tony Kanaan
Tony Kanaan is a retired professional race car driver, well known for his success in IndyCar. He began racing at a young age in 1994 in the Formula Europa Boxer division where he won the series title in his first season after racking up five wins. His success continued in the lower ranks and Tony made his debut in the IndyCar series in 2002. It didn't take long for Kanaan to establish himself as a top driver on the circuit. He became the 2004 IndyCar series champion, and in that season he completed 3,305 laps which made him the first driver in the series to complete every possible lap in a season. Kanaan also led a total of 889 laps in 13 separate races which became a series record. He finally won the prestigious and elusive Indianapolis 500 in his 12th attempt in 2013 which tied him with Sam Hanks for the most attempts prior to winning their first Indy 500.
