About Tommy Kramer
Tommy Kramer was setting Texas high school records and winning state championships as a quarterback at Lee High School in San Antonio before committing to Rice University to play football for the Owls. Kramer went on to set school records in all major passing categories that would hold for several decades following his graduation. He then entered the NFL as the 27th pick in the 1977 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings where he remained until 1989. Kramer was one of the top quarterbacks in the League at his time especially when it came to late game come-backs, which earned him the nickname Two-Minute Tommy. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 1986 when he led the NFL in passing and finished his NFL career in 1990 with 24,777 passing yards and a career 72.8 passer rating. In 2012 Kramer was selected to the College Football Hall of Fame for his record setting career at Rice.
