About Tom Gordon
Tom “Flash” Gordon is the proud father of current Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Dee Gordon, but before his son became a star in the Major Leagues it was Tom that paved the way. From 1988 to 2009 Gordon was a staple in the big leagues, playing for the Kansas City Royals, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Houston Astros, Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies and Arizona Diamondbacks. As one of the top relief pitchers in the league during his entire career, he earned three All-Star appearances, led the American League in saves in 1998 and earned American League Rolaids Relief Man of the Year honors in 1998. In 2008 he was an instrumental part of the Phillies World Series championship team. In 1998 he had an epic year, breaking the major league record with 54 consecutive saves and dominating opposing hitters. What distinguishes Gordon from any other relief pitcher in history is the fact that he is the only pitcher in MLB history to record 100 wins, 100 saves and 100 holds.
