About Todd Blackledge
Todd Blackledge is a college football analyst for ESPN, a role he has held since 2006. He teams with Brad Nessler on weekly telecasts. Blackledge has also been a national broadcasater for ABC and CBS Sports. He got his broadcasting start in local radio in Canton and Cleveland, Ohio. Blackledge brought great name recognition to the air when he started. He was a star collegiate quarterback, going 31-5 as a three-year starter at Penn State. In 1982, he led the Nittany Lions to a national championship and won the Davey O'Brien Award as the best quarterback in the country. The Kansas City Chiefs then drafted Blackledge seventh overall in the 1983 NFL Draft. It was the same draft that future Hall of Fame signal callersJohn Elway, Jim Kelly, and Dan Marino were selected in. Blackledge played seven seasons in the NFL, the first five with the Chiefs and the final two with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Nowadays, in addtion to his broadcasting work, he also serves as the head basketball coach at Hoover High School back home in Canton.
