About Tim Beckham
In 2008 the Tampa Bay Rays selected an athletic five-tool shortstop named Tim Beckham out of Griffin, Georgia with the No. 1 overall pick, giving him a $6.15 million signing bonus and putting the faith of their franchise in his hands. Since that time he’s worked his way up through the Rays minor leagues and made his debut with the big team and has no disappointed. Through 2014 he has hit .429 in limited time but continues to show the potential that the Rays believed he had from the beginning. With speed, power, fielding ability, instincts, a strong throwing arm and the work ethic that it will take to be successful at the big league level, Beckham truly has it all and will no doubt be one of the team’s faces of the franchise for years to come.
