Thomas Davis Biography

Thomas Davis is a linebacker for the Washington Redskins after spending a season with the Los Angeles Chargers. Davis originally established himself in the NFL as a staple at linebacker for the Carolina Panthers for over a decade.  In 2015, Davis had the best season of his career. He made his first Pro Bowl roster and his first All-Pro squad.  Overall, Davis finished with 105 tackles, 5.5 sacks, seven pass deflections, and four interceptions.  He was instrumental in the Panthers road to Super Bowl 50. Despite suffering a broken arm in the NFC Championship Game, Davis still played in the Super Bowl and recorded seven tackles in the loss to the Denver Broncos.  As a rookie, he also got a taste of winning with Carolina making it to the NFC title game.  During his career, Davis has also been lauded for his sportsmanship and character off the field.  In 2016, he won both the "Whizzer" White NFL Man of the Year and the Bart Starr Award.  He was the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year in 2014 as well.  Davis was originally the 14th overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft.  He played collegiately at Georgia, where he was a consensus first-team All-American and All-SEC selection.
