About Terry Murray
Terry Murray is a retired NHL player and former coach of the Los Angeles Kings. Murray played12 years in the NHL, playing for the California Golden Seals, the Philadelphia Flyers, the DetroitRed Wings, and the Washington Capitals. After his retirement as a player in 1982, Murray washired by the Washington Capitals as an assistant coach under his brother Bryan, who wasserving as the head coach. Murray was promoted to the head coaching position in 1990,guiding the Capitals to multiple playoff appearances in his four year tenure. After being firedmid-season in 1994, Murray was hired as head coach of the Philadelphia Flyers in 1994, leadingthe Flyers to success over his three seasons until being fired in 1997. Murray would go on totake over the Florida Panthers in 1998, and was relieved of his duties in 2000. Eight years afterbeing fired from the Panthers, Murray became head coach of theLos Angeles Kings in 2008,winning multiple games and playoff series but still no championships. Murray was fired in 2011,as the Kings would go on to win the Stanley Cup one year later. Murray currently lives with hiswife and two daughters in Lehigh Valley, where he coaches the AHL affiliate of the PhiladelphiaFlyers.
