About Claude Noel
Claude Noel spent an expansive career with numerous minor league hockey teams, only briefly ever getting a chance to play in the NHL. After careers in the AHL and IHL, Noel retired after 15 years of playing in 1988. After playing, Noel began his coaching career in the East Coast Hockey League before taking on roles in the AHL and then the IHL with the Kalamazoo Wings. In 2003 Noel was the head coach of the Milwaukee Admirals and won the coach of the year award as he took the Admirals to win the leagues Calder Cup. In 2007 Noel was given a shot in the NHL and joined the Columbus Blue Jackets as an assistant coach, where he acted as interim coach for a brief stint in 2010. In 2011 Noel was named as the new head coach for the revamped Winnipeg Jets and held the role until 2014 when he ended his current coaching career with a 90-87 career record.
