Steve Berthiaume

Steve Berthiaume has made a name for himself over the years as ESPN sportscaster. Born in Wisconsin and growing up in Medfield, Massachusetts where he was the announcer for his high school basketball team, Berthiaume went on to attend Emerson College. His broadcasting career took off when he began at WTIC-TV in Hartord, Connecticut, covering UCONN’s men’s and women’s basketball throughout the NCAA tournament. From there, Berthiaume represented the CNNSI network for several years and finally landed himself as a SportsCenter anchor for ESPNEWS in 2000. After six years, Berthiaume left ESPN to become chief sportscaster for a network started by the New York Mets, the SNY network. However, Berthiaume released himself from his contract and went back to ESPN after only a year to be closer to his wife, who is a former SportsCenter anchor herself. Berthiaume was hired in 2012 by the Arizona Diamondbacks to be the playby-play announcer. He also is currently seen anchoring many editions of Baseball Tonight. Steve Berthiaume says that his job at the ball park is, “a dream come true.”
