About Stephen Vogt
Stephen Vogt is the manager of the Cleveland Guardians. Vogt quickly transitioned to the bench two years after his playing career ended. Vogt was best known for his time with the Oakland A's, making back-to-back All-Star squads in 2015 and 2016.
That 2015 campaign was Vogt's first as a full-time starter. Vogt finished the year hitting .261 with 18 home runs and 71 RBI. He originally debuted in the big leagues with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2012 and spent the next two years as a midseason callup for the A's.
Vogt went on to play for four other franchises before retiring with the A's in 2022. He jumped into the coaching ranks with the Seattle Mariners in 2023.
The Rays drafted Vogt in the 12th round of the 2007 MLB Draft. He got noticed after having a banner career at Division II Azusa Pacific University. For his collegecareer, Vogt hit .448 with 31 home runs. He helped lead the school to the NAIA World Series while also being named an NAIA All-American.
