Skip Bayless

Skip Bayless is a sports columnist, author and television personality. Bayless became interested in sports as a young boy. Bayless attended Vanderbilt University where he majored in English and History. He earned all-intramural honors as a senior in football, basketball and fast-pitch softball. Bayless was also the sports editor for The Hustler and he spent his summer of 1969 interning under Frank Boggs at The Daily Oklahoman. After graduating from Vanderbilt, Bayless took on a job at The Miami Herald where he wrote sports features. Two years later, the Los Angeles Times hired Bayless in 1976. In 1989, Bayless wrote his first book titled: God’s Coach: The Hymns, Hype and Hypocrisy of Tom Landry’s Cowboys. Bayless also spent some time as a radio broadcaster. After spending 17 years in Dallas, Bayless became the head columnist for the Chicago Tribune. In 1992, Bayless became a member of the original debate team on ESPN. ESPN hired Bayless full-time in 2004 and he rose to become one of the most well-known sports media personalities on the show "First Take." He now works for Fox Sports and co-hosts a similar show called "Undisputed."
