About Shohei Ohtani
Shohei Ohtani is one of the most dynamic players in baseball history. He took the sport in America by storm when he arrived with the Los Angeles Angels in 2018, winning American League Rookie of the Year honors. Ohtani caught fire as a two-way player in the 2021 campaign, making the first of three straight All-Star teams with the Angels and the first of his two MVP awards with the club. The 2023 year was particularly historic as he became the first Japanese-born player to lead the league in home runs and was MVP of the pre-season World Baseball Classic. After the season, Ohtani signed a record contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Before reaching the majors. Ohtani dazzled in Japan, becoming a five-time All-Star. He was also a Pacific League MVP in 2016 for the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters.
