Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce Biography

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is a track and field sprinter. Fraser-Pryce participated in the 2008 Summer Olympics where she became the first Jamaican woman in history to win the gold medal in the 100-meter sprint. In June 2009, Fraser-Pryce won the Jamaican title for the 100 m. This win made her the number one Jamaican qualifier for the 2009 World Championships. In 2009, Fraser-Pryce won the gold medal in the 100 m and the 4x100 m relay. Fraser-Pryce competed in three different events in the 2012 Summer Olympics and medaled in all three. She won the gold in the 100 m and a silver in the 200 m and 4x100 m relay. In 2013, she won a gold medal in the 100 m, 200 m, and 4x100 m relay at the 2013 Moscow World Championships. Fraser-Pryce has also won a silver medal at the 2007 Osaka World Championships in the 4x100 m relay and a silver at the 2011 Daegu World Championships in the 4x100 m relay. In 2014, she won the gold medal at the 2014 Sopot World Indoor Championships in the 60 m.
