About Scott Macartney
Scott Macartney grew up in Seattle, Washington and fell in love with the sport of skiing as a youngster on the slopes of Crystal Mountain. During his days as an amateur he skied on regional teams in the Northwest and earned his degree in economics from Dartmouth College. In 1999 he made his World Cup debut and has since made five top ten finishes from 2003 to 2008. In addition to his ten World Cup appearances he has competed in two Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City in 2002 and in Torino in 2006. Macartney is a well-rounded skier but concentrates on the Super G, combined and downhill competitions. As one of the “A Team” competitors for Team USA he has been considered one of the top USA alpine skiers for nearly two decades and has made his country proud on a competitive international skiing circuit.
