Sandro Dias

Sandro Dias is most famously known for his professional skateboarding skills representing his home country of Brazil. Dias originated from Sao Paulo, Brazil in 1975 in a family with three sisters. He entered his first skateboarding competition at the age of eight and continued to skate throughout the remainder of his childhood. While Dias admits he never dreamt of turning professional, he says it is something that just happened as a consequence of having fun. By 1995, he had mastered the art of vert skateboarding well enough to debut professionally. He has since been sponsored by Red Bull, Oakley, and Positiv Skateboards and has become the first skater to land a 900 in a professional competition. Dias has been competing on the national team in the Summer X Games since 2000. He has become a three-time gold medalist in 2004, 2006 and 2007 at the Summer X Games in Los Angeles. Dias obtained his first gold medal for the vert best trick and the proceeding ones in vert. Most recently, he has become the recipient of a silver medal at the Summer X Games in Austin, Texas in 2014 in the skateboard freestyle vert event. Dias continues to make his country proud and carry out his passion for skateboarding each and every day.
