About Rusty Malinoski
Rusty Malinoski, a Canadian professional wakeboarder, is most famously known for being the first athlete to land a 1080 in a competition. Malinoski was born in 1983 in Saskatchewan, Canada and grew up immersing himself in the waves. In fact, he earned the nickname “bone crusher” due to his powerful riding style and passion for the sport. Malinoski’s first notable win came in 2005 when he earned the Pro Men’s U.S. Pro-Am Championship title. Since, he has been featured in many prestigious wakeboarding DVD’s, including Bent Felix, The Butter Effect and Slick City. In addition to becoming the first athlete to land a 1080, Malinoski has also become the first wakeboarder to land it twice. He has finished almost every one of his seasons in the top ten and is an inspirational athlete to all who have witnessed his performances.
