About Rick Renteria
Rick Renteria is the current manager of the Chicago White Sox, a role he has served in since the 2017 season. He had previously been the team's bench coach for the 2016 season. In being named manager, Renteria became just the second person to manage both of the Windy City's baseball teams. He had previously been the skipper for the Chicago Cubs in 2014. From 2008-13, Renteria was on the coaching staff for the San Diego Padres. He had nearly a decade of minor league coaching experience before reaching the big leagues. Prior to entering the coaching ranks, Renteria had a five-year major league playing career. He most notably was a member of the Florida Marlins during their first two seasons.
