About Ray Lucas
Ray Lucas had a seven-year career as an NFL quarterback, but he is best known for his four seasons with the New York Jets. Lucas relieved two quarterbacks in the 1999 season and finished with a 4-2 record. He also started six games with the Miami Dolphins in 2002. The Harrison, New Jersey native played collegiately at Rutgers. Lucas is currently a broadcaster, serving as the radio analyst for the Scarlet Knights and covering the Jets for SportsNet New York. His autobiography, “Under Pressure: How Playing Football Almost Cost Me Everything and Why I’d Do It All Again”, was released in 2014. In the book, Lucas chronicles his battle with pain killer addiction and how he overcame it. He also speaks to groups everywhere about the dangers of addiction.
