Raul Ibanez Biography

Raul Ibanez was one of the most respected players in baseball during his career, a trait that spilled over into his current role as the Senior Vice President of On-Field Operations for Major League Baseball. Ibanez had a 19-year playing career, best remembered by his 11 seasons with the Seattle Mariners. He totaled eight years with over 20 home runs on the way to 305 for his career. In his first season with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2009, Ibanez was named an All-Star. He was also the MLB Player of the Week five times that year and helped Philadelphia reach the World Series. Ibanez had a remarkable career, especially when you consider that the Mariners originally selected him in the 36th round of the 1992 MLB Draft.
