About Randy Edsall
After four seasons playing quarterback in college for Syracuse, Randy Edsall made the transition to coaching where he has made an impact. For ten years Randy worked in various positions for his alma mater including being the running backs, tight ends, and defensive backs coach. This was a time in which Edsall learned and got better as a coach. Under the tutelage of Tom Coughlin, Randy made it to the NFL as a defensive backs coach for the Jaguars but eventually achieved his goal of being a head coach when he landed the position at Connecticut. In his time there he led the team to winning two Big East championships and he himself earned the Big East Coach of the Year in 2010, the same year he became the winningest coach in UConn football history. From 2011-15, Edsall coached at the University of Maryland. Due to his previous success at UConn, he has returned to coach the program in 2017 prior to stepping down in 2021.
