Ralph Simpson Biography

Ralph Simpson was one of the biggest stars in the upstart ABA during the 1970s. Simpson played the majority of his career in Denver, being named to five-straight All-Star teams from 1972-76. He was a two-time All-ABA Second Team pick and during his final year with the Nuggets, he was named to the First Team. Simpson joined the Detroit Pistons in the NBA the following season and also went on to play for the Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Nets. Prior to joining the pros, Simpson was a third-team All-American at Michigan State. After retiring, he settled in the Denver area. His daughter is the well-known R&B singer, India Arie.
