Pep Guardiola Biography

Pep Guardiola is one of the greatest football managers of all-time. Guardiola has had success in La Liga, the Bundesliga and the Premier League. In each league, he holds the record for most consecutive victories. Guardiola currently manages Manchester City, a position he has held since 2016. He has won three Premier League championships. Guardiola previously headed up Bayern Munich, winning the Bundesliga in each of his three seasons. He got his first coaching opportunity leading Barcelona's B team and was promoted to skipper the main club a year later in 2008. In his first year, Guardiola became the youngest manager to ever win La Liga, Copa del Rey and the UEFA Champions League. In 2011, he won La Liga and the Champions League again, earning the Catalan Parliament's Gold Medal and FIFA World Coach of the Year in the process. Prior to jumping into coaching, Guardiola had a lengthy playing career, mostly with Barcelona. He was part of the first Barcelona team that won the European Cup in 1992 and helped the club win four straight Spanish league titles from 1991-94. From 1997-2001, Guardiola served as Barcelona's captain.
