About Paul Hewitt
Paul Hewitt is a college basketball head coach, currently serving as the head coach at George MasonUniversity. Following his graduation from St. John Fisher College, Hewitt was an assistant coach at USCfor a season. Hewitt then would go on to be an assistant coach at Fordham University and Villanova forthe next eight seasons before being hired as the head coach at Siena College in 1997. During his threeyears at the school, Hewitt would lead them to the NCAA tournament and a conference title game,posting a 66-27 record. In 2000, Hewitt took the head coaching position at Georgia Tech, leading theYellow Jackets to five NCAA tournament bids, two conference finals, and much more success. Hewittwas named the ACC coach of the year in 2001, and led the team to the championship game in 2001.After suffering his third losing season in four years, Hewitt was fired in 2011, then named the headcoach at George Mason University just one month later, a position he currently holds today.
