Osi Umenyiora

Osi Umenyiora has had an accomplished career in football and remains involved in the game today as a global ambassador. Umenyiora had one of the more remarkable journeys in recent memory being born in London to Nigerian parents. He split his childhood between England and Nigeria before moving to Alabama when he was 14.

Umenyiora played just to years of high school football and only received a scholarship offer to play at Troy University. He became a dominant pass rusher in college, which led the New York Giants to select him in the second round of the 2003 NFL Draft.

Umenyiora's game continued to grow by leaps and bounds in the pros. Just two years into his career, he became a first-team All-Pro and received the first of two Pro Bowl nominations. Umenyiora was a Pro Bowler for the second time in 2007 when the New York Giants won the Super Bowl.

In 2010, Umenyiora was named a second-team All-Pro and led the NFL in forced fumbles. Following the 2011 season, he won his second Super Bowl ring.

After ten seasons in New York, Umenyiora finished his career playing two years with the Atlanta Falcons. In retirement, he has been involved in broadcasting for the BBC and serves as a global ambassador for the NFL, looking for the next generation of great foreign-born players. He is a member of the Giants Ring of Honor and the Troy University Sports Hall of Fame.
