Oliver Luck

Oliver Luck serves as the NCAA's first executive vice president of regulatory affairs. He accepted the position in 2014. Under Luck's guidance, the NCAA was able to bring academic and membership affairs along with the eligibility center and enforcement under one roof. Prior to taking that role, Luck was West Virginia University'sdirector of athletics and associate vice president. From 2010-2014, he revitalized his alma mater'sathletic programs. He led the school through their move from the Big East Conference to the Big 12 Conference. Before entering the world of college athletics, Luck's administration experience was in pro sports. He was president of Major League Soccer's Houston Dynamo and the CEO of Houston Sports Authority. Luck spent many years as an executive with the NFL and was an instrumental force behind NFL Europe. His first position in a sports front office was as general manager of the Frankfurt Galaxy in 1991. Luck's tremendous experience as a sports executive follows a distinguished playing career at quarterback. Luck was originally drafted in the second round of the 1982 NFL Draft by the Houston Oilers and spent all five pro seasons with the franchise. In college, he was one of the greatest quarterbacks in WVU history. He was a three-year starter who left school with career records for passing touchdowns, completions and attempts.
