The OKC Thunder Girls are the cheerleaders for the Oklahoma City Thunder of the National Basketball Association. The Thunder Girls are an extension of the OKC Thunder and they engage the fans on and off the court. They are a dance team as well as ambassadors who represent the Thunder across the state and around the world. The Thunder Girls make more than 200 appearances a year and the events that they attend range from community events and international tours to birthday parties and corporate celebrations. The OKC Thunder has a junior dance team called the Rain Drops and they made their debut in 2009 and the Thunder Girls help coach the children. Mandatory tryouts are required in order to be on the Thunder Girls team. The Thunder Girls look for technical and talented dancers who are physically fit, positive, energetic and have a great personality. They must be professional, well spoken and a team player as well as 18 years old or older.
