Indiana Pacemates Biography

The Indiana Pacemates are the dancers for the Indiana Pacers of the NBA. The Pacemates perform dance routines at pregame, halftime, and timeouts during every Pacers home game. When the Pacemates are not performing at Pacers games, they hold full-time jobs and help in the community. Auditions are mandatory to join the Pacemates dance team. The candidate must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or a GED. The candidate must also have good moral character, as the team is representing the Pacers in the community as well as holding camps for younger girls. Every year the Pacemates hold the Pacemates Clinic, which is a dance clinic held for girls ages 5-18 who are interested in learning new skills and techniques. Corporations often hire the Pacemates to perform at corporate events, charity events, and parties in the Indianapolis area. The Pacemates can also attend meet and greets, autograph signings, and short performances.
