O.J. McDuffie

O.J. McDuffie is a former professional wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins for eight seasons. In high school, McDuffie was a four-sport athlete participating in football, basketball, track and field, and baseball. As a senior in high school, McDuffie was named the A-AA Ohio Player of the Year. McDuffie’s high school number 32 is retired at Hawken School where he attended. McDuffie went to Penn State for college where he played on the Penn State Nittany Lions football team. McDuffie helped the Nittany Lions beat Tennessee on January 1, 1992 at the 1992 Fiesta Bowl, and his performance earned him the game’s offensive MVP. In 1990, McDuffie played for the Nittany Lions’ baseball team where he holds the Penn State record for stolen bases in a single game. The California Angels drafted McDuffie in the 1991 MLB Draft, but he did not sign. Two years later, the Miami Dolphins selected McDuffie as the 25th overall pick in the 1993 NFL Draft and he signed with them. As a Dolphin he became known as Dan Marino’s favorite receiver. He retired in 2000 because of a nagging toe injury.
