About Neil Smith
Neil Smith is a former professional football defensive end in the National Football League. The Kansas City Chiefs selected Smith as the second overall pick in the 1988 NFL Draft. Smith was one of the top defensive linemen of his era. He was a 6x Pro Bowl selection from 1991-1995 and again in 1997. He led the NFL with 15 sacks during the 1993 season. Smith signed with the Denver Broncos in 1997 where he won 2 NFL championship rings for Super Bowl XXXII and XXXIII. Smith was a 1x First-Team All-Pro selection, 3x Second-Team All-Pro selection, 1x All-American and NFL 1990s All-Decade Team. Smith played for the San Diego Chargers in 2000 where he spent his last year playing. In his entire career, Smith has had 624 tackles, 104.5 sacks and 4 interceptions. On October 22, 2006, Smith was inducted into the Chiefs’ Hall of Fame. The Kansas City Command retired #90 in Smith’s honor.
